"The only historical document known on the Revolution in Ayudthaya by Phra Phetracha later King Phra Phetraracha of Ban Phlu Luang dynasty(Supan Buri) - A comtemporary letter by an English Merchant, Mr. William Soame, about the crisis in Siam during 1688 under King Narai era. It is the only historical letter remained left about the revolution, the oldest since 1688 or 335 years ago and amongst the oldest in Southeast Asia. Contents are about the extremely ferocious chapter of this historical revolution, regime changes, foreign surpression(especially French military) and usurpation during such period as witness by an English merchant who lived and traded in Ayudthaya at that time and fled the rigorious suppression by the usurper. Phra Phetracha, the Siam General at the time, usurped royalty to himself and his family by charging Phra Pe (King Narais adopted son) and Chao Phraya Wichayen (Constantine Phaulkon), a foreign born high counselor(equivalent today as Prime Minister) of treason and then executed them and the Kings two brothers by hitting them to death with sandal wood. This letter was sent from Malacca to his friend in Southern India dated 20 december 1688 (approximately 6 months after the revolution). Precision details were given and mentioned on many events from May till October of the same year, date, time, place of occurance, important Thai names, important European names, priests, French General etc., truely a thoroughly with precised reports. The colour of the ink and the old style written language indicated the age of this letter. Well preservation of the 7 pages letter with browned and aging visible, was written on both sides of the sheets, which measure 20x30 cm. UNIQUE MUSEUM ITEM. Group Captain Ian Pedder the Officer Commanding the Offensive Support Wing at RAF Tengah in Singapore led his 20 squadrons of Hawker Hunter jet aircarft deployed to Chiangmai airfield to support the Thai Royal Air Force. This postcard was writen and mailed by HRH Prince Mahidol of Songkhla (Prince Father) during learning at Royal Prussian Military College, Potsdam, Germany and Imperial German Naval College, Flensbourg addressed to Chao Chom Manda Sae at the Royal Secretary of Dusit Park.
